CAS Issues Foreign Member Certificates, Calls for Global S&T Collaboration

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) conferred certificates on Foreign Members newly elected in recent years at a ceremony held on Sunday, June 23, in Beijing, and called for joint endeavors of all Foreign Members to promote S&T innovation in order to address the common challenges facing humanity.

Xi Stresses Sci-tech Modernization, Innovation

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday underscored the importance of sci-tech modernization and innovation in pursuing Chinese modernization and high-quality development. Xi presented China's top sci-tech award and made the remarks at a meeting conflating the national sci-tech conference, the national science and technology award conference, and the general assemblies of the members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE).

Chinese Academy of Sciences to Host Public Science Day

The Chinese Academy of Sciences will open its doors to science enthusiasts this weekend, engaging the public with latest sci-tech achievements and free access to its cutting-edge research facilities. China's top institution in terms of natural sciences, the academy will host its 20th Public Science Day on May 18 and 19. More than 100 research institutes nationwide under the academy will open key laboratories, organize lectures and demonstrate experiments to science-savvy audiences.

Sci-tech Innovation, New Growth Engine for China

As China pursues modernization through high-quality development, innovation driven by sci-tech progress has become a new growth engine for the country. During the ongoing annual sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also known as the "two sessions," the pivotal role of sci-tech innovation has been highlighted frequently.

Academicians Vow Greater Contributions

The 59 newly elected academicians this year of the Chinese Academy of Sciences vowed at a certificate awarding ceremony on Friday to play a leading role in China's future scientific research endeavors and make greater contributions to the development of the nation's scientific research by encouraging the young generation and promoting the role of female scientists.
