The Membership of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is the highest academic accolade in the field of science and technology and a lifelong title conferred by the State.
The election of new Members is held biennially. The Presidium of the Academic Divisions determines the number and allocation of new Members, according to science and technology development trends and disciplinary arrangements.
