A Forum on Technological Sciences (FTS) was inaugurated in 2002, covering such disciplines as information, materials and engineering. In line with the policy of “letting a hundred schools of thought contend,?the FTS encourages academic freedom and promotes cross-disciplinary exchanges and airing of opinions by scientists of the young generations. It also aims at finding out young talents, promoting communications and understandings between CAS Members and other experts and among experts from different organizations and regions.
