Upon the invitation of Mr. Koji Omi, member of the Japanese House of Representatives and chairman of the Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum, CAS President LU Yongxiang was present at the fifth annual meeting of the Forum held from 5 to 7 October in Kyoto, and delivered a speech on the future development of science and technology at its opening session. Later on he joined hands with President of the French Academy of Sciences Jules Hoffmann in co-chairing a meeting of presidents of global science academies.
