An international symposium was held from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, 2005 in Beijing and Shanghai under the joint auspices of the CAS and COMEST (World Commission on the Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology, UNESCO). Organized by the CASAD Committee for the Enforcement of Scientific Morality, the COMEST annual symposium was held for the first time in China.
Attending were experts from China and UNESCO in ethics, biology, medical sciences and other related fields of study. CAS President LU Yongxiang delivered a report entitled A Rethinking of Scientific Ethics.
