To disseminate scientific knowledge and promote scientific spirit and ideas, lecture tours of CAS Members and other experts, entitled “Science and China,?were made in different parts of the country. In addition to CAS, the lecture tours were sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, CAE and the China Association for Science and Technology. Thanks to their painstaking planning and organization over the past three years, such tours have proved to be of great value.
